Nelspruit Mica arts
At Mica we are interested in beautiful and unsual Art and handicrafts; we are always on the lookout for new ideas. We started by running a few classes but soon had such an increase in demand that we now have classes most days of the week, 2 evenings and every weekend. We select our teachers with great ctare, they all experienced wonderful people and come from all over South Africa.
Oil Painting is one of the most therapeutic hobbies you can start. With infectious enthusiasm and good humour, Sian our resident Artist will take you through your first course on oil painting. This step by step practical course offers a refreshing and original look at fine art. On completion you walk away with a beautiful painting that you will be proud to show and hanging in your home. Mica also offer advanced classes in Oil, acrylic and Water colours. Mica also has weekly “Young Artist” club where the youth can get creative.
Pewter is a wonderful craft that offers instant gratification. In our workshops Mica will teach you how to create your own stunning masterpieces in no time. All designs are traced onto the metal so if you feel held back by your inability to draw, fear not simply find a design and trace away!! Pewter designs are ideal for embellishing a wide variety of items, from books to candles, from mirrors to bottles, cards you name it.
Decoupage is one of the fastest growing hobbies in the world, it is easy and appeals to all age groups. Mica offer beginners as well as advanced classes. Learn how to transform ordinary objects into something special and create original articles that will make you proud. Decoupage can be done on anything from a pot, wooden furniture, metal to glass or candles.
Mosaic, you will find an amazing range of mosaic tiles and embellishments at Mica. At Mica we teach different projects from crosses to trays, stepping stones to tables. Mosaic is so versatile that the sky is the limit, once you have gained some experience and confidence, you can expand your materials to include metal wire shapes, diamante crystals, buttons pebbles or old china – just about anything.
Crafts, Mica have a love affair with being creative and run classes in Scarpbooking, Polymerclay (Fimo Clay), Glass Painting, Card Making and much more. Weekly Mica run “Kids Craft” Classes
School projects “one stop shop” Mica stock all items needed for school projects from balsam wood, project & foam board, grey chip board, triplex board, polystyrene boards, balls and shapes, paint, glue, sticks etc.
