Mica Hardware as a brand always strives to be on the cutting-edge retail and store development. Our first-ever Mica Paint Centre was no different in terms of innovation and catering to its community.

Three years on from its evolution into a Mica store – Northriding Mica Paint centre is thriving. The owner of this first-of-its-kind Mica store, Warwick Webster, has owned the business for 25 years. The store was part of another paint group for 22 years prior to joining Mica 3 years ago – when it became the first Mica Paint Centre to be launched.

The store is proud to have a great relationship with its community, often getting involved in clean-ups, sponsorships and donations to continue to foster great relationships with clients and the community alike.

In October 2021, Northriding Mica Paint Centre saw an exciting revamp of the store take place – signage was redone, decals on the windows were added, new-look gondola ends were installed, and new shelving was put in. The paint tinting bay and counters were also given a fresh makeover – installing cutting-edge paint machinery to offer clients so much more. All this stunning new signage really makes Northriding Mica Paint Centre stand out on one of the busiest roads in the province!

Owner, Warwick Webster, believes that the revamp has really made for a great advertisement for the store and has created a friendlier shopping environment for clients. He was thrilled that the revamp now allowed Northriding Mica Paint Centre to keep more stock. Apart from allowing the store to offer a better shopping experience for customers, it also offers a great environment for staff too.

Being part of the Mica group has meant that Northriding Mica Paint Centre can now stock a variety of new items, items they originally thought they’d never sell. This has seen the store create bigger baskets and more interest from customers. “It’s opened our eyes up to new things we never knew about before”, said Warwick, “The buying power and support from Mica is phenomenal”.

“You don’t realise how strong a brand is until you are part of it,” said Warwick, “It’s been good for us, we’ve seen a 25% growth in foot count and transactions through the till and we’ve seen growth year on year in sales. Warwick also noted that he likes the transparency and honesty in the group, “everyone is just a phone call away,” he said.

Warwick was also proud that his Mica store could enjoy incredible growth in his first 6 months as a Mica Paint Centre, which was just before the COVID pandemic hit. Thereafter, his store was supported through the pandemic by Mica Support Centre.

“What the group did for me as a member, and other members as well, during COVID, just stood out, and made you realise that you are part of a family”, said Warwick. Mica Hardware is so proud to have Northriding Mica Paint Centre, our Rookie Mica Member Award Winner for 2022, as part of our family!
