How to make a hexagonal table
What you will need:
- 7 – 8 Plumbing pipes (which you can later paint)
- Four 255×25 mm black iron nipple fittings
- Eight 204mm x 25mm black iron nipple fittings
- One 406 x 25mm black iron nipple fittings
- Four 25mm floor flanges
- Four wheels to fit 25mm pipe
- Six 25mm black iron tee fittings
- Four 2440mm x 25mm x 305mm wood planks
- Six 1220mm x 25mm x 50mm wood pieces
- One 1220mm x 25mm x 203mm hard wood piece
- Protractor
- Pencil
- 16 (at least) 19mm screws
- 50 (or so) 32mm screws
- Sand paper
- Wood stain
- Polyurethane Gloss
- Clean rags or brushes
- Power saw
- Drill
Method:
- Fasten your 2440mm planks together using your 1220mm piece using the 32mm screws.
- Draw your hexagon outline using a protractor. There should be 6 corners and the angle inbetween each corner needs to be 120 degrees. Each side should measure about 660mm.
- Once you are happy with the shape use your saw to cut the planks.
- Assemble your pipes to form the table legs using the iron fittings.
- Ensure the table top is upside down. For the lip, cut 6, 660mm pieces from the 1220mm pieces.
- Secure these pieces along the edge of the table with 32mm screws.
- Sand the entire table top to ensure it is smooth.
- If you wish to stain do so now. Painting about 3 coats – allowing to dry I between and then painting a gloss over to finish it off.
- Once dry you can screw the legs in to the table.
- If you want at this point you can screw the wheels are casters onto the table.
- Enjoy your new trendy table.
