How to make a faux table out of a bookshelf

What you will need:

• A stencil design of your choice (you can even draw and cut out your own stencil
• Masking tape
• Semi-glossy paint colour of your choice
• 1 Floating Shelf (length should be the same as your desired stencil), try to pick a floating shelf that comes attached with hidden brackets or rods, as this will suit the effect you are trying to achieve with this project.
• Quick clamps
• Jigsaw and clean-cut blade
• Workbench
• Paintbrush or foam roller

Method:

1. Mark the height where you want your shelf to be.
2. Draw a faux shelf under which you should draw your stencil.
3. Draw the outline of your faux table legs.
4. Paint within the lines of your stencil, 2 coats will be best.
5. Paint the shelf to match the colour of your stencilled table, 2 coats will also be best. Leave to dry.
6. Assemble the shelf according to the instructions of your chosen shelf.
7. You now have a beautiful, self-designed bookshelf pretending to be a table.
