How to make a faux table out of a bookshelf
What you will need:
- A stencil design of your choice (you can even draw and cut out your own stencil
- Masking tape
- Semi-glossy paint colour of your choice
- 1 Floating Shelf (length should be the same as your desired stencil), try to pick a floating shelf that comes attached with hidden brackets or rods, as this will suit the effect you are trying to achieve with this project.
- Quick clamps
- Jigsaw and clean-cut blade
- Workbench
- Paintbrush or foam roller
Method:
- Mark the height where you want your shelf to be.
- Draw a faux shelf under which you should draw your stencil.
- Draw the outline of your faux table legs.
- Paint within the lines of your stencil, 2 coats will be best.
- Paint the shelf to match the colour of your stencilled table, 2 coats will also be best. Leave to dry.
- Assemble the shelf according to the instructions of your chosen shelf.
- You now have a beautiful, self-designed bookshelf pretending to be a table.
