Tidying up your garage can be tedious but it can also be exciting when you find potential in old, unused items. Here is a cute way to refurbish old glass lamp shades and bring them back into your home with a new purpose as desk organisers!

Here is a step-by-step way of how to refurbish your old glass lamp shades:

Step 1: Give the old shades a nice wash to get rid of the dust.

Step2: Once completely dry, paint them with a nice white chalky paint.

Step 3: For a distressed, vintage look – sand them slightly using sandpaper.

Step 4: Find a nice block of wood that will fit the shades comfortably upside down.

Step 5: Stencil where you would like them placed and drill a hole deep enough for you to secure the shade so that the bottom now forms a bowl.

Step 6: Place your lamp shades into your nicely crafted wooden holes.

Step 7: To keep them more secure you can use craft glue. Allow to completely dry before placing items in them.

Step 8: Voila! There you have your beautifully refurbished old glass lamp shade.
